Winter weather advisory issued in eastern Idaho
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS — Eastern Idahoans can expect to see rain and snow this weekend — particularly at higher elevations.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Lemhi, Clark, Fremont, Teton and western Madison counties. Between 3 and 8 inches of snow are expected in the region between midnight Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday. Ashton, Island Park, Reynolds Pass and Monida Pass are expected to be hit the hardest.
Snow and rain showers are predicted in the valleys during the same time. Some areas could see between 1 to 3 inches of snow or rain.
Light winds of 10 to 15 mph are also expected in the region, which may cause blowing snow in some areas.
