Woman killed in northern Idaho crash by wrong-way driver

The following is a news release from Idaho State Police.

ATHOL — On Feb. 23, at 6:51 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle injury crash on SH54 at milepost 9.1, east of Athol.

Jeanne F. Wolcott, 74, of Athol, driving a red 2016 Ford Edge, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of travel when she struck a black 2016 Chevy Equinox, driven by Lawana J. Holden, 68, of Athol, head on.

Wolcott, Holden and Wolcott’s passenger, Luella L. Wolf, 57, of Sandpoint, were all wearing their seatbelts and were all transported to Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene.

On Feb. 28, at 2:44 a.m., Holden was pronounced deceased at Kootenai Health.

The investigation is continuing.
