Officials urge caution after mountain lion sighting

POCATELLO — Authorities have issued a public safety warning regarding a mountain lion sighting in the Silverfield Way and Goldfield Drive area of Pocatello.

The sighting occurred at around 7 a.m., according to a Pocatello Police news release.

The department is urging caution in that area with children and pets. They also stress that if the animal is sighted again, residents should not attempt to contain it.

Anyone who sees the animal should call the Pocatello Police Dispatch Center at (208) 234-6100 or the local Idaho Fish and Game office at (208) 232-4703.
