Man involved in teenager’s disappearance may have other victims, police say

The following is a news release from the Wilder Police Department.

On Oct. 1, the Wilder Police Department began an investigation for a missing juvenile that led investigators to believe that there was inappropriate contact occurring. The juvenile is a 14-year-old female.

During the investigation, the juvenile that was missing was believed to be in the company of a 35-year-old male by the name of Hector Arias.

The juvenile was located on Oct. 2 and was found to be safe from harm at that point. The Wilder Police Department continued the investigation pertaining to Arias.

On Oct. 9, charges were filed against Arias for lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor child under the age of 16 and for distribution of a controlled substance to a minor under the age of 18. He is now being held at the Canyon County Detention Center.

As this case comes to a close, the Wilder Police Department would like to thank the community for their assistance with this case.
