RIGBY — A teenager was airlifted to the hospital Thursday night after being hit by two pickup trucks in the parking lot of Rigby Middle School.

The 16-year-old boy was in the gravel portion of the parking lot at 90 North 3800 East around 10:45 p.m. when the first pickup truck, being driven by a 15-year-old boy, struck him, officials tell EastIdahoNews.com.

The boy was knocked to the ground when a Chevrolet Truck, being driven by a 15-year-old boy, struck the victim again with the right front tire. Jefferson County Sheriff Steve Anderson says the teen sustained serious injuries to his head and facial area.

The victim was flown to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and Anderson says he is expected to make a full recovery.

Students were at the school because of a football game. Officials have not released the names of those involved.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Rigby Police, Central QRU, Life Flight and Idaho Falls Ambulance.
