UPDATE: Sex offender on the run from marshals, police has been arrested

Update (Thursday at 8:20 a.m.):

POCATELLO – Jason Pikyavit, 43, a sex offender with a history of violence, was arrested early Thursday morning after being on the run from the U.S. Marshals and Pocatello Police.

According to the police department, he was arrested around 4 a.m. at a home on Pole Line Road.

Pikyavit was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender and for questioning in an assault investigation.

We’ll update with more details as they become available.

POCATELLO – The U.S. Marshals are looking for man they say is a dangerous convicted criminal.

They say 46-year-old Jason Pikyavit has a history of being violent.

He’s wanted for failure to register as a sex offender, but authorities also want to question him about an ongoing assault investigation through the Pocatello Police Department.

Pikyavit is 5-foot-11 and weighs about 245 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.

He also has a tattoo of a bear claw on his chest and neck, as well as tattoos on his arms.
