Winter weather advisory issued in high elevation areas
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS — Snow is falling in several higher elevation areas of eastern Idaho and will continue to fall until Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the following areas: U.S. Highway 30, Soda Springs, Montpelier, Fish Creek Summit, Georgetown Summit, Geneva Summit, Border Summit, and Emigration Pass. Forecasters say snow is also occurring along Interstate 15 north of Dubois including the Monida Pass.
The heaviest snow will develop Tuesday evening and diminish around mid-morning Wednesday.
Between one to four inches of snow is possible in these regions. Breezy conditions are possible as is blowing and drifting snow.
Officials advise caution on the roads.
