Woman in Meridian crosswalk killed after being hit by concrete truck

The following is a news release from the Meridian Police Department.

A 27-year-old female pedestrian died at a local hospital after being struck by a concrete truck at the corner of Eagle Road and Ustick Road Tuesday night.

At approximately 5:25 p.m., a concrete truck driven by a 46-year-old male, was turning east onto Ustick Road from Eagle Road and the pedestrian was walking south in the crosswalk when she was struck by the right front tire of the truck.

No citations have been issued and the crash is still under investigation by the Meridian Police Department and the Ada County Sheriff’s Department. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved.
