3.1 earthquake rattles Star Valley
Published atSTAR VALLEY, Wyoming — A magnitude 3.1 earthquake rolled its way through the southern edge of Star Valley on Friday. The rumble occurred between 9:30-10 a.m. and was felt by residents in the Fairview, Afton, Smoot, Osmond, Auburn and Grover areas.
According to the United States Geological Survey and the University of Utah Seismic Center, the quake occurred between six and seven miles (11 km) southwest of Afton. The epicenter had a depth of 3.11 miles (5 km).
No damage to buildings or infrastructure in the area had been reported.
