Bonneville school district seeking input amid superintendent search

  Published at  | Updated at

IDAHO FALLS — Bonneville Joint School District 93 trustees are asking patrons to help in the search for a new superintendent.

An online survey requests public feedback on both personal and professional qualities patrons would like to see in the next superintendent.

Patrons can also provide questions for trustees to float to candidates during forthcoming interviews.

A public meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at Thunder Ridge High School, will allow patrons to provide similar feedback.

“We would like to hear from you what characteristics and traits are most important in selecting the next superintendent,” trustees wrote on the district’s Facebook page announcing the meeting.

Longtime Bonneville superintendent Chuck Shackett will retire after this school year. The district has posted the position for interested applicants. The Idaho School Boards Association is helping in the search for a replacement.

Bonneville is East Idaho’s largest school district with 12,527 students in 2017-18.

Shackett makes $156,029, which ranks among the top five highest paid superintendents in Idaho.
