Iconic Pocatello neon sign coming back to life

POCATELLO — A local iconic neon sign is coming back to life in ‘Old Town Pocatello.’

Hotel Yellowstone on Main Street and the ‘Relight the Night’ Foundation will be turning the switch on the neon lights that hover over the old historic building.

The relighting celebration will take place on Nov. 23 after the light parade in ‘Old Town’ at the Chamber of Commerce parking lot.

Randy Dixon with ‘Relight the Night’ says it’s the twelfth neon sign ‘Relight the Night’ has seen since their efforts began in 2012 to restore historic neon signs in ‘Old Town.’

“This was actually a simpler and more attainable project than we thought to begin with. For under $3,000 we were able to rewire the sign and repair the neon. Our upcoming relighting celebration is going to be a lot of fun,” Dixon said.

The relighting celebration kicks off Friday at 8:30 p.m. in the Chamber of Commerce parking lot on 324 South Main Street.
