UPDATE: Arrest made in McDonald’s robbery

The following is a news release from the city of Idaho Falls.

Idaho Falls Police Detectives have made an arrest in the early morning armed robbery of an Idaho Falls McDonald’s restaurant.

Charles Nelson Beasley, Jr.,was arrested without incident by Idaho Falls detectives this afternoon in Bingham County. Idaho Falls Police determined that the suspect had multiple possible addresses in both Bonneville and Bingham Counties, and worked with Bingham County law enforcement authorities to locate and apprehend the suspect.

Beasley, Jr., 50, was also wanted on misdemeanor warrants for his arrest in Chubbuck and Idaho Falls. He is being transported to Bonneville County by IFPD, where he will be booked on one count of armed robbery, in addition to the outstanding warrants.

IFPD detectives interviewed the suspect, who admitted to the early morning robbery at the McDonald’s restaurant on 17th near Holmes in Idaho Falls. Detectives were also able to recover the weapon from the robbery, which was discovered to be a BB-gun pistol. The money from the robbery, which was estimated to be approximately $130, was not recovered.

IDAHO FALLS — A McDonald’s was robbed at gunpoint Saturday morning and police are asking for help in finding the suspect.

The robbery occurred around 8:17 a.m. at the 650 East 17th Street restaurant. An African-American man walked in, produced a gun and demanded money from the cashier, according to City of Idaho Falls spokesman Bud Cranor. An undetermined amount of money was turned over to the suspect and he left the building.

No one was injured in the robbery and the police are still searching for the subject. Anyone with information is asked to call Idaho Falls Police at (208) 529-1200.
