Juvenile shot by Sheriff’s Deputy during traffic stop in Bannock County

POCATELLO – A juvenile was shot by a Bannock County Sheriff’s Deputy while conducting a traffic stop on Siphon Road in Bannock County Friday night.
The incident happened a little after 9 p.m. near the railroad tracks between Yellowstone Avenue and Hiline Road.
According to Bannock County Sheriff Lorin Nielsen, the teen was taken to the Portneuf Medical Center ER and was still in surgery as of 10:45 p.m.
That individual’s name and condition are not being released by authorities.
One 18-year-old was arrested at the scene.
Nielsen also said that this incident is being investigated by the Critical Incident Team headed by the Power County Sheriff’s Office and therefore not much information will be released until a full investigation can be completed.
More information may be released Saturday or Monday.
As of 12 a.m., Siphon Road between Yellowstone Avenue and Hiline Road were still closed to traffic.
