One person hospitalized after crash near Soda Springs

The following is a news release from Idaho State Police.

SODA SPRINGS — Idaho State Police are investigating a two-vehicle, injury crash that occurred on U.S. Highway 30 about seven miles from Soda Springs.

The crash occurred at about 8 a.m. Police reports show Robert Dexter, 37, of Soda Springs, was eastbound on U.S. 30 in the right lane. He was driving a 1987 Jeep Wrangler.

Dusty Woodbury, 38, of Moore, was behind the Jeep in the left lane. He was driving a 2010 Freightliner semi pulling a single tank trailer.

The Jeep turned in front of the Freightliner, which impacted the Jeep on the driver’s side. The Jeep came to rest in the roadway and the Freightliner came to rest on the left shoulder.

Woodbury was wearing a seatbelt; Dexter was not. Dexter was transported to Caribou Memorial Hospital in Soda Springs by ground ambulance.

The lanes of travel were blocked for approximately three-and-a-half hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
