Police release name of local man killed in rollover crash

HAZELTON — Police have released the name of a Pocatello man killed in a rollover crash on I84 early Wednesday morning.
Christopher Averett, 46, was traveling in a 1996 Honda south of Hazelton around 12:45 a.m. when officers say he lost control of the vehicle, went into the median and rolled. Averett was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car. He died at the scene.
Idaho State Police was assisted by the Idaho Transportation Department and Jerome County Sheriff’s Office.
