REXBURG — Planned power outages and related equipment repairs are impacting Rocky Mountain Power customers in Madison and Jefferson counties today.
As of 10 a.m. Sunday, nearly 4,000 customers were without power split between the Rexburg and Rigby areas.
The reason for the lengthy outage, officials tell EastIdahoNews.com, is that crews are replacing a structure and reconfiguring distribution circuits. The project will increase the capacity of a line to deliver energy to customers.
If you live in the Rigby-area, the estimated restoration time is 1 p.m.
If you live in Rexburg, power should be restored before 5 p.m.
Rocky Mountain Power apologizes for the inconvenience. Officials says this type of outage is rare and they are working to minimize the area affected as much as possible.
