UPDATE:

Idaho State Police have release more details regarding the crash on U.S. Highway 26.

Police reports show that at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Tyler M. Smith, 31, of Rexburg, was driving westbound on US 26 in a 2018 Toyota Tacoma. Parker S. Richards, 27, of Idaho Falls, was driving southbound on the Ririe Business Loop in a 1998 Chevrolet C10.

Richards failed to yield at the stop sign, entered the intersection, and was struck by the Toyota Tacoma.

Richards’ passenger, Jonathan Klotzer, 27, of Bellingham, WA, was ejected from the vehicle. Both he and Richards were transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

As of Monday morning, Richards and Klotzer were listed as in fair condition, EIRMC officials said.

Smith and his juvenile passenger were both wearing seatbelts. They were not transported.

US 26 was blocked in both directions for approximately one and a half hours.
