Lots of snow offers perfect opportunity for annual Scoot n’ Shoot

  Published at

REXBURG — After an incredible turnout last year — even with limited snow — the 29th annual Scoot n’ Shoot is happening again this year in Rexburg.

The event is hosted by the Madison County Moody Powder Pushers, an Upper Valley group that focuses on promoting snowmobiling and providing safe opportunities to share the sport they love. The annual tournament helps raise funds for the Idaho State Snowmobile Association that focuses on keeping trails open for use.

The Scoot n’ Shoot is a 20-mile family focused snowmobile course with six stops along the way, which test each rider’s marksmanship skills with different shooting challenges. This year the stops will include shotguns, rifles, darts and slingshots. After completing the course, there will be a light dinner provided at the Rexburg AmericInn where an award ceremony and auction will be held.

“This is a family-centered event,” Powder Pushers spokesman Kelton Muir said. “All ages are invited”.

Registration for the event starts Friday from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the AmericaInn off of U.S. Highway 20 in Rexburg. You can also register Saturday from 8 a.m to 12 p.m.

We are planning to attend the event this weekend and will post a more in-depth story afterward.
