City of Ammon receives grant to install traffic signals at busy intersection

The following is a news release from the city of Ammon.
AMMON — The city of Ammon has been awarded a 2019 Local Strategic Initiatives grant in the amount of $697,000 for the construction of traffic signals and needed improvements at the intersection of Sunnyside and Ammon Road.
The City received official word of grant funding on Tuesday from the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council. The appropriation was signed by Governor Brad Little on Feb. 14.
Construction of the traffic light and improvements at this intersection will be completed in 2019.
“This is a very important and extremely busy intersection in our community,” said Mayor Coletti. “We are pleased that the efforts of so many in the City to obtain this funding have paid off, and look forward to constructing this much needed traffic improvement.”
