Flood advisories issued in Jefferson and Bingham counties
Published at | Updated atRIGBY — Eastern Idaho is warming up and with all the snow in February, it’s no surprise weather officials are worried about flooding.
The National Weather Service has issued flood advisories in both Jefferson and Bingham counties.
In Jefferson County, some flooding is occurring or is expected to occur in the following communities or regions: Terreton, Roberts, Mud Lake, Hamer and Sage Junction. The flooding will mostly impact pastureland, however, some roads may be covered by flood waters.
In Bingham County, flooding is already occurring or is expected to occur in the following areas: Western American Falls Reservoir, Aberdeen, Springfield, Rockford, Moreland, Pingree and Sterling. Some roads have been observed covered by water, but so far the flooding is primarily sticking to pastureland.
NWS officials warn motorists should not drive over flooded road as cars can become stuck or filled with water. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
