Idaho Falls man arrested on felony drug charges

The following is a news release from the Idaho Falls Police Department.

IDAHO FALLS — A local man was arrested on felony drug charges after police found him sitting unconscious in a vehicle.

Police reports show at about 8 a.m. Monday Idaho Falls Police officers were dispatched to the area of 1400 W. Broadway for a report of a man who was asleep in the driver’s seat of a vehicle and would not wake up.

Officers located the vehicle in a parking lot and identified the man as Todd Shirley, 29, of Idaho Falls.

Due to the circumstances of the call, the difficulty rousing him, and prior experience with the individual, officers secured Shirley’s permission and performed a search of the vehicle.

That search yielded 22.9 grams of methamphetamine as well as marijuana, mushrooms, and paraphernalia. A search of Shirley’s person yielded additional paraphernalia.

Shirley was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture or deliver, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
