IDAHO FALLS — Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man after his car got stuck in the snow. Authorities say he is suspected of burglarizing two vehicles.

Rawdy A. Bauer, 36, of Iona, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly breaking into two cars and stealing multiple items. Shortly after Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputies took the initial report, one of the victims called and told them he saw the suspect’s vehicle stuck in the snow on East Elva in Idaho Falls.

According to a news release, a deputy investigated the stuck vehicle and discovered Bauer inside.

The deputy identified items in Bauer’s car matching the description of the stolen items from both vehicles.

Bauer allegedly told the deputy he stole the items from two cars. He said he usually sells stolen items to pay for drugs or trades them to his dealer for drugs.

According to the news release, Bauer also admitted to smoking meth before the deputy arrived. The deputy allegedly found a meth pipe in Bauer’s car.

Bauer is facing two counts of felony burglary, two counts of possession of stolen property and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in the Bonneville County Jail.
