ISU arts and letters New Year’s Gala going virtual for 2020
POCATELLO — Idaho State University is set to host a virtual New Year’s Eve Gala scholarship fundraiser.
The ISU College of Arts and Letters will host the virtual event to benefit student scholarships via a livestream from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Dec. 31. A $20 ticket must be purchased to access the event, and can be purchased at isu.edu/calgala.
Participants can expect to be treated to works by art, music and theater and dance students.
This is the eighth consecutive year in which the university has hosted this event. Combined, the previous seven have raised $182,000, which were then in turn rewarded to to more than 200 students.
“The gala scholarships that we have received for the past number of years have been game-changers in our department,” said Vanessa Ballam, associate professor of acting. “They are the lifeblood of our recruiting efforts, and they’ve allowed us to be much more competitive so that we can bring in the top talent, to help us to continue to raise the bar in everything that we create in our classrooms and on stage.”
