ISU College of Business announces endowed professorship

POCATELLO — Idaho State University has announced The Dr. Bill Phillips Memorial Endowed Professorship in Finance.
This is ISU College of Business’ first endowed professorship in finance and second it business. It was made possible due to the support of alumni Gary and Susan Campbell.
The endowment was established in honor of its namesake, a former ISU professor and finance department chair.
“(Recipients should show) exemplary teaching and outreach skills (and must) truly care about retaining, guiding and nurturing students by preparing them for life after graduation, as well as striving for and assisting with 100 percent career placement,” Gary said in a news release.
The endowed professorship will serve in attracting professors who demonstrate the qualities that have left a lasting impression on Phillips’ students, like Gary.
Gary and Susan have remained staunch supporters of ISU throughout their careers. Over the past 36 years, the couple have gifted the university’s College of Business, athletics department and the Stephen’s Performing Arts Center.
Along with the endowed professorship, the Campbells founded the Gary D. and Susan G. Campbell Scholarship Endowment, which will benefit ISU students majoring in finance.
