IDAHO FALLS – A Rigby woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 20 near Idaho Falls Saturday morning.

Idaho State Police report the crash occurred at 11:45 a.m. at milepost 311 east of Idaho Falls.

Laura Ansley, 34, of Rigby was driving westbound in a 2012 Honda Civic. For an unknown reason, she veered off the left shoulder and across the median before hitting 34-year-old Victor Echevarria of Rigby head-on. He was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu.

“Echeverria and his passenger, Amanda Echeverria, 37, of Nampa, were wearing their seat belts and were taken by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Ansley was not wearing a seat belt and succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash,” according to an ISP news release.

The road was blocked for two and a half hours as crews worked to clean up the wreckage.

ISP was assisted by Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office. It remains under investigation.
