IDHAO FALLS — A woman was sentenced Friday for her role in the beating of another woman outside an Idaho Falls bar.

Sierra Joe, 23, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery and Magistrate Judge Mark Riddoch placed her on a year of probation. As part of a plea agreement made with prosecutors, a felony aggravated battery charge was amended to the misdemeanor.

The Idaho Falls Police Department said Joe attacked the woman outside Ford’s Bar on A Street in January. Investigators also allege Joe’s mother, Sheila Lee, 43, participated in the beating after claiming the victim spit on her, according to court documents.

Everyone involved told police a different story, but officers and paramedics found the victim with a broken nose and several other cuts and bruises.

Judge Riddoch ordered Joe to pay $407.50 in fees and fines.

Lee is still awaiting a preliminary hearing, according to court records.
