REXBURG – A Rexburg woman has been indicted by a grand jury on a felony charge of vehicular manslaughter.

Jamie Marie Curtis, 30, allegedly rear-ended Ryan Olson of Rigby, sending his car into a canal, which resulted in his death on May 17, 2021.

According to the indictment, Curtis, “did, unlawfully, but without malice kill Ryan Olson…by operating a 2011 Honda Pilot at or near the intersection of North 2nd East and Moody Road at an excessive rate of speed and colliding into the back of Ryan Olson’s vehicle after she had entered into an uncontrolled hypoglycemic state.”

Court records show that Curtis was summoned to the Madison County Courthouse but was not booked into the jail.

Curtis was indicted on June 30, and is expected to appear in district court for her arraignment on July 26.

Though Curtis is charged with these crimes, it does not necessarily mean that she committed them. Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

If convicted, Curtis could face up to 15 years in prison.
