The incident was reported to the Secret Service’s Office of Professional Responsibility last week and corroborative interviews were conducted later that same day.

A Secret Service spokesperson said that it, “takes allegations of misconduct and potential criminal activity extremely seriously.”

The spokesperson says that Secret Service Director Joseph Clancy was briefed the same afternoon, and that the supervisor was placed on leave later that day. The matter has since been accepted for investigation by the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of the Inspector General.

“These allegations as reported are very disturbing,” said a Secret Service statement. “Any threats or violence that endangers our employees in the workplace is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”
