A. Gary Bennett

Arthur Gary Bennett, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 21, 2023, at his home.

Gary was born January 23, 1937, in Grace, Idaho, to Valero Griffeth Bennett and Beatrice Aurelia Robinson Bennett. He grew up and attended schools in Grace and graduated from Grace High School. Gary went on to attend Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. While at Ricks College he was ping pong champion and also had his own Jazz Band called the Collegiates, where he played the Alto Saxophone. He mastered the ukulele and other instruments. He also had a fantastic tenor voice.

On August 3, 1962, he married Norma Joan Tueller in Idaho Falls Temple. Gary and Joan made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he worked for Chesbro Music Company for 53 years.

Gary was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in various church callings but his favorite callings was serving in the Idaho Falls Temple.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joan Bennett of Idaho Falls; daughter, Mitzi (Kevin) Bodily of Idaho Falls; daughter, Wendi (Marc) MacCauley of Daybreak, UT; daughter, Tiffani (Brady) Jensen of Ammon; son, Travis (Lisa) Bennett of Idaho Falls; son, Jeffery (Rose) Bennett of Ammon; son, Dustin (Chelsi) Bennett of Idaho Falls; foster daughter, Jody Blackmoon; brother-in-law, Brent Tueller of Idaho Falls; brother-in-law, Rich Edwards of Sandy, UT; brother-in-law, Craig (Cauleen) Tueller of Bountiful, UT; brother-in-law, Ted (Sandy) Tueller of Bountiful, UT; 29 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.

Gary was preceded in death by his daughter, Camille Bennett; parents, Valero and Beatrice Bennett; father and mother-in-law, Don and Norma Tueller; brother, Fred Bennett; sister-in-law, Rita Bennett; sister-in-law, Sue Edwards; brother-in-law, Bob Tueller; and sister-in-law, Kaye Tueller.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Idaho Falls Temple View Ward, 1450 MountainView Lane in Idaho Falls, with Bishop Robert Bailey officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in New Sweden Cemetery.
