On May 27, 2025, Arvilla Nilsson returned to the loving and waiting arms of her Father in Heaven, accompanied by her husband, Kenneth Charles Nilsson, her daughter, Ann, and many hundreds of family members who loved her and have been waiting for her.

At the time of her passing, she was living with Catherine Michaels, her daughter, in Burlington, Wyoming.

Arvilla was born to Mary Arvilla Wheelwright and William Henry Wheelwright on June 5, 1936, in Rexburg, Idaho. She grew up in Rexburg and attended Madison High School and Ricks College. She loved that town!

Arvilla was very accomplished in the medical field. She was a scrub nurse and operating room supervisor for Riverview, Parkview, and Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She made that place run and they knew it.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served three missions with her husband. They touched many lives in that service. They served in San Francisco, Temple Square security mission, and the addiction recovery program mission.

As important as that was to her, nothing came close to her family. She spent her last weeks surrounded by them and their love. She couldn’t wait to get back to her side of the mountains. That time has come.

Arvilla is the mother of 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by them greatly. She loved her family and had a glow about her when she talked of them. It really was the central part of her life. She brought us tremendous joy, and we saw that joy reflected back in her smile and in her eyes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; daughter Ann; and is survived by her children, William (Marie) Nilsson, Bruce (Heather)Nilsson, Catherine (Larry) Michaels, and David (Kristin) Nilsson.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Mountain View Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be at the Sugar City Cemetery.

She will be missed by her friends, her community, but most of all her family and we love her.

We invite all who knew and loved Arvilla to attend. I imagine everyone will come with a smile on their face because that was the result of being in her presence.

Until we meet again!

Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
