Clyde Tigner

January 2nd, 1948 - March 20th, 2023

Clyde Raymond Tigner, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 20, 2023, unexpectedly at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Clyde was born January 2, 1948, in Auburn, California, to George Oliver Tigner and Virginia Faye Hoffman Tigner. He graduated from San Juan High School in Citrus Height, California. He also attended Brigham Young University where he earned a Master’s Degrees in Education and Humanities.

On September 28, 1978, he married Claudia Maxfield in the Provo Temple in Utah. Clyde and Claudia made their home in Helper, Utah, Shoshone, Idaho, and then Idaho Falls, Idaho. Clyde worked as a counselor for Rigby School District.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved playing the piano for the Primary organization. He enjoyed playing the piano and organ. He loved mentoring and teaching kids. He loved his family and his faith.

Clyde is survived by his loving wife, Claudia Tigner of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Stephen Tigner of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Carolyn Shaffer of Idaho Falls, ID; honorary son, Gabriel Romando Dubach of Idaho Falls, ID; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, Urban Cooper Tigner, and his step-mother, Hazel Mini Slack.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2023, at the Idaho Falls 14th Ward, 651 Gladstone, with Bishop Gordon Holt officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Wood Funeral Home to help defray funeral costs.
