Dell Roy Tyler

February 26th, 1957 - November 16th, 2021

Dell Roy Tyler (64) was born February 26, 1957 in Rigby, Idaho to Daniel Clements Tyler and Marilyn Ririe. He was the seventh of nine children. He enjoyed high school sports and was a talented athlete. He met the love of his life one night at Ada’s Café and let his parents know that very night that he met the woman he was going to marry. Prior to marrying her he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Milan, Italy. Shortly after returning, Dell and Kathryn (Kate) Cox were married on November 23, 1979 for time and all eternity. They had five amazing children who have since given them twelve perfect grandchildren with one more on the way. Dell and Kate moved to Jackson, Wyoming to begin working in construction and raise their family. Dell loved his family. Despite his own short time in college, he valued education, encouraging his children to reach their full potential, and finding opportunities to continue his own learning. He broke many molds and found success in his career pursuits. He was a general contractor and a true entrepreneur. He taught his children to work hard and play hard. After work in the summer, he would take his kids waterskiing on Jackson Lake until dark. He took his family snowmobiling every Saturday from Thanksgiving to Easter. He faithfully served in many church callings including serving as a Bishop. Dell retired to Ririe, Idaho where he purchased and restored his ancestral rock home. Even when retired Dell continued to enjoy construction and other projects. The last couple years of his life, he and Kate focused on constructing a family cabin. Dell enjoyed the outdoors, road trips, reading, music, western movies, classic sports cars, and tickling his grandchildren. He was a faithful and spiritual man who touched many lives. His smile, chuckle, and love are ingrained into all those who knew him.

He passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 16, 2021 at the Idaho Falls Community Hospital, surrounded by his family, having fought a long hard battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. His spirit and true desire to be with his family and to watch them grow never stopped. He fought a valiant fight.

Dell is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Clements and Marilyn; his brothers Dan, David, and Maurice. He is survived by his wife, Kate; sisters Diana Nelson (Ron), Mickie Loosli (Ben), and Dana Kirtley (Bret); brothers Michael Tyler (Carol) and Monte Tyler (Margie); children Jessica Hanks (Larry), Amanda Dunlap (Austin), Tillie Borrelli (Frank), Sam Tyler (Karen), and Charlie Tyler (Kayla); and grandchildren Dell (DC) Turner, Ryder Turner, Oakley Dunlap, Tyler Borrelli, Eleanor Tyler, Garner Dunlap, Brooklynn Tyler, Cooper Tyler, Reagan Borrelli, Nowlin Dunlap, Bennett Tyler, Gwendolyn Tyler, and one on the way.
