Dennis Chadwick Purser, age 73, of Shelley, Idaho, returned home to his Heavenly Father surrounded by family who loved him deeply. Dennis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was marked by faith, hard work, and love for the outdoors.

He was born and raised in Preston, Idaho, where he developed a lifelong passion for the mountains, fishing, and hands-on projects of every kind. Dennis was a “do-it-yourself” kind of man—never afraid to roll up his sleeves, fix what was broken, and lend a hand to anyone in need. His quiet strength and cheerful determination inspired all who knew him.

Dennis was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a missionary in the Southern States Mission from 1971-1973. He lived his testimony through daily acts of service and devotion to his family. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with those he loved most.

He is survived by his mother, Floris Purser; his beloved wife, Donalene Purser; and their five children: Jill (Jon) Lott, Jeff (Jennifer Hillman) Purser, Mark (Becky) Purser, Chad (Amy) Purser, and Becky (Vince) Moats. He leaves behind a legacy of 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren who adored their grandpa and will carry his love and lessons throughout their lives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arland Gloyd Purser; his brothers, Allen Purser, Gloyd Purser, James Purser, and John Purser; and his sister Irene Coleman.

A viewing will be held under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home at 110 W. Oak, in Shelley, Idaho, on Wednesday evening, October 29, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and before the services on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 184 N. Park in Shelley, Idaho. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Shelley, Idaho.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the nursing staff, friends, and extended family for the many expressions of kindness, thoughtful deeds, and for your presence at the services.
