George Andrew Hardy

George Andrew Hardy, 76, of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. George was born April 20, 1945 in Woodlake, California, the son of Elwood Hunter Hardy and Molly Edna Lindly Hardy. He attended schools in Arizona before serving 12 years in the United States Army.

George Married Barbara Carol Briggs in Archer, Idaho on March 25, 1968. They made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho where he worked as a truck driver and later for District 91 as a custodian. He has lived in Kingman, Arizona and Idaho Falls, Idaho.

George was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved to watch John Wayne movies, put puzzles together, going to baseball games and car shows.

George is survived by a daughter, Marcia Lyn Covin of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Son’s, Andrew Hunter (Steffinie) Hardy of Spring, Texas, Thomas Elmer Hardy of Idaho Falls, Idaho and George Scott (Catriona) Hardy of Clinton, Utah. Two sisters, Judy Wagner and Nancy Hardy. Nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Barbara Carol Hardy, brother, Robert (Jeane) Hardy, and son-in-law Michael.

A funeral service will be held for George at 11:00 AM., Saturday, September 25, 2021 in the Idaho Falls 14th Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. (651 Gladstone, Idaho Falls, Idaho).

The family will meet with friends from 7 to 8:30 PM, Friday, September 24, 2021 at Eckersell Funeral Home (101 W. Main Street, Rigby, ID) and again from 9:30 to 10:45 AM, Saturday at the church.
