Julie Gaffney
May 18th, 1956 - July 13th, 2023
Julie Morrison Gaffney, 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 13, 2023.
Julie was born May 18, 1956, in Ashton, Idaho, to Fred Douglas Morrison and Freda Neff Morrison. She grew up and attended schools in Ashton and graduated from North Fremont High School.
On September 1, 2012, she married Michael Gaffney in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Julie and Michael made their home in Idaho Falls where Julie worked as a manager for BEA at the Idaho National Laboratory. She retired in 2016 and worked part-time at the Pinecrest Golf Course pro shop in her retirement.
Julie loved to ski and was a member of the Kelly Canyon ski patrol for a number of years. Julie’s other passions were golf, hiking, cross-country skiing, gardening, travel, yoga, and riding horses. Julie had a particular love for dogs.
Julie is survived by her loving husband, Michael Gaffney of Idaho Falls, ID and her dog, Kada. She is also survived by her brother, Bud (Luana) Morrison of Lamont ID; sister, Joyce (Mike) Sedler of Spokane, WA; brother-in-law, Ken Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID; nieces, Kellye Johnson, Kim Drake and Melinda Dredge; nephews Jason, Aaron, Luke Sedler, Jared Morrison and her grand-niece KateLynn Egger.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Beverly Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Snake River Animal Shelter or the Idaho Falls Animal Shelter.
A Celebration of Julie’s Life reception will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023, at the Gaffney residence, 4800 Pevero Drive, Idaho Falls.
