It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mathew Francis Fitch. He was born on July 11, 1977, and took his last breath on June 2, 2025. Known for his humor, kindness, helpfulness, and his love for a good time, Matt’s absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He leaves behind his loving family: his mother, Linda S Fitch, brother Michael Fitch, his son Boston Fitch, his granddaughter Scottie Rose Fitch, his ex-wife Cody Erickson Fitch, nephew Sutton Fitch, niece Kennedy Fitch and other family members including Melissa Coon and Kyleigh Gardea. He joins his predeceased grandfather, Francis Rosenkrance, and grandmother, Lola Rosenkrance in final peace.

Matt attended Skyline High School in Idaho Falls, Idaho and graduated in 1995. He furthered his education at the University of Idaho, graduating in 2003 with a B.S in Natural Resources. Among his proudest accomplishments were his graduation from the University of Idaho, his fearless years fighting wildfire and natural disaster response, and especially his beloved son Boston and granddaughter Scottie.

Matt loved playing 4-5-6, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, skiing and golfing as well as attending the horse races which he came by very naturally. He spent years officiating basketball in and around Pocatello. He was also an avid sports enthusiast, watching countless hours with his family. He was a dedicated fan and coach of his son Boston and never missed a game.

Throughout his life, Matt exemplified hard work, kindness, humor, and commitment to his family. He strongly believed in the power of perseverance, humor and kindness; lessons he shared with those around him. His legacy will continue to live on through the love and memories he shared with his family and friends.

The loss of Matt is immeasurable, but so is the love he left behind. His memory will be etched in the hearts of his family and all who knew him, serving as a reminder of a life well-lived. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Rest in peace, Matt. You will be sorely missed.

Services will be held at the Moore Community Center 3353 W 3155 N Moore, ID 83255 in Moore, Idaho at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 14, 2025. The family will visit with friends following the service. Arrangements are under the care of the Anderson Family Funeral Home.
