Monica Kay Hurley

January 15th, 1975 - March 16th, 2023









It is with deepest sorrow, that we announce the death of our precious daughter, Monica Kay Hurley. Monica passed away on March 16, 2023, at a Salt Lake City area hospital after a prolonged illness. Monica was born on January 15, 1975, in Redondo Beach, CA. In 1976, Monica moved from Redondo Beach to Simi Valley, CA with her family where she lived until relocating in 1998 to the Idaho Falls Group Home Bellin Home, in Idaho.

During her adolescent years, Monica attended Dean Triggs School for the handicapped and disabled in Thousand Oaks Cal. and later mainstreamed to schools in the Thousand Oaks primary and secondary education system. After arriving in Idaho Falls at the age of 23, she attended The Idaho Falls Group Home and then the Grand Teton Human Services for a number of years.

We would like to extend our gratitude to all her care providers who supported and helped Monica through the years.

We will deeply miss our precious little Angel who enriched and made our lives better with her presence.

She is survived by her father, Dale Hurley; mother, Sheryl (Richard) Lidyard; and siblings: Troy and Cory Hurley; stepsister, Lauren Lidyard; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Monica was preceded in death by her brother, Shane; nephew, Teran; grandparents: Jack and Velma Hurley and Dean and Betty Humphries.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 27, 2023, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services.
