Myrna Jean Taylor

August 24th, 1942 - August 26th, 2019

Myrna Jean Taylor, 77, of Mackay, Idaho, passed away Monday, August 26th, 2019. Myrna was born on August 24th, 1942 in Gooding Idaho to Dorothy and Sidney Edwards. She grew up in Dietrich Idaho where she went to school in the same building for all 12 grades and graduated as Salutatorian. She married in 1960 and had three children: Dawn (Gary) Jensen, Shawn (Mary) Roberts, and Chanelle (Dave) Foltz. She was later divorced.

Myrna married Ivan I. Taylor, in 1991, in Elko Nevada. She and Ivan lived happily in Mackay Idaho. Where you would often see them on the Whiteknob mine hill or at the Phi Kappa mine. They were actively involved in the Masonic lodge and Eastern Star and loved their Masonic family.

You would see Myrna driving around town on her 4-wheeler (her favorite mode of transportation), playing cards with the girls on Wednesdays, and playing bingo on Friday nights. She loved living in the Lost River Valley where she supported all sporting activities whether it was her grandkids or the kids who rode her school bus. She was also a successful hunter and would go every year.

Myrna was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan I. Taylor, parents Dorothy and Sidney Edwards, sister Shirley Gerity, and brother Sidney Edwards Jr. Myrna is survived by her brother Norman and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
