Raymond “Ray” Merl Park, 91, of Parker, Idaho, died February 2, 2024, at his home of natural causes. He was born November 5, 1932, in Goshen, Idaho, to James Merl and Geneva Sessions Park. He attended school in Taylor, Idaho, and graduated from Shelley High School.

At different times in his life he lived in Taylor, Hamer, and Parker, all in Idaho. His favorite place to be was in the hills and mountains, and on the ranch.

He married Shirley Campbell on November 16, 1956. Four children were born to this union, Linda, Laura, Gayle, and Jerry. Shirley passed away in October of 2014.

Ray was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a High Priest.

Ray was a hard worker and worked at several different jobs. He ranched with his father and brothers, worked in the timber logging with his son Jerry, he drove truck for himself and then later for Doug Andrus Distributing. He worked for a number of years with Shirley at Antique Gallery and Trackside Mall in Idaho Falls, and Main Street Antiques and Last Roundup Antiques in Rexburg. His most fun hobby was the Fort Henry Military Museum at the Legacy Flight Museum in Rexburg. He loved sharing his love for antiques and military history with everyone. He enjoyed people and meeting new friends. All the kids, with their excited faces and great questions that they would ask, always made his day.

He is survived by his children, Laura (Kirt) Ballard of Shelley, Gayle Park of Parker, Jerry (Cynthia) Park of Parker; sister, Ann Park Dansie of Pocatello; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Merl and Geneva “Pardy” Park; wife, Shirley; daughter, Linda Rae Park; sister, Margie “Midge” Vickers; brothers, Jim Park and Bill Park.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, at the Parker LDS Chapel, 132 N. Center, Parker, Idaho, 83438. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., both times at the church. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
