Robert Glenn Butler

Robert “Bob” Glenn Butler, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2022, at the Gables of Ammon surrounded by his loved ones. He was under the care of Brio Hospice.

Bob was born on July 29, 1932, in Newdale, Idaho to Irvin and Ruby Butler. He met the love of his life Sharon Camp, and they were married for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. They built their home and raised their family in Idaho Falls.

Bob was very talented in the arts. His second love in life was music, he had the voice of an angel and could strum any string instrument you placed in his hands. When he wasn’t playing, he was painting or crafting with wood in his bully barn. He never sat still and was always on the go playing with several musical groups, Old-time Fiddlers or Granny and the boys. Bob excelled at so many things most of all being bringing light and happiness to those he met in life.

He was a security officer for Argonne National Labs for 33 years. He received several recognitions for his marksmanship.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sharon Butler of Idaho Falls, ID; his son, Bradley (Kathren) Butler of Rigby, ID; his grandchildren: Charanda Butler and Tanis Butler; his sisters: Evelyn Ockerman of Idaho Falls, ID and Charlotte (Bill) Berardi of Pawcatuck, CT.

Preceded in death by his daughter Sherrie and son Jeffrey Butler.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2022, at the Kearney Ward Building, 1860 Kearney Street. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and from 10-10:45 a.m., Friday prior to the services.
