Ronald Eugene Littlefield of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away peacefully on October 10th, 2025, his 78th birthday, in his home and surrounded by his family. It was a very spiritual and peaceful experience for Ron’s family to witness his pains and cares of this world being taken away as he returned to his Heavenly Father and reunited with his family above.

Ron was born on October 10th, 1947 in American Falls, Idaho to Raymond and Hazel Littlefield. He was the third boy of eight children, and he absolutely adored his mother. Growing up, Ron’s family lived in the Pocatello and American Falls area. Ron was an athletic child, and he excelled in every physical activity that he tried. He attended Pocatello High School.

On October 28th, 1966, Ron married Laura Lee, who already had an 11-month old daughter, Dalisa. Over their thirty-five years of marriage, they welcomed five more children—Cheryl, Denise, Ronald, Michelle, and Andrew. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. Although Ron and Laura eventually divorced, they continued to hold a special place in each other’s lives and remained on good terms throughout the years. Ron’s children meant everything to him, and his love for his children knew no bounds.

As a young father, Ron worked as a non-food salesman for Associated Foods, working tirelessly to provide for his growing family. Later, he found success as a self-employed electrician and tax specialist. Through Littlefield Tax Services, Ron built lasting relationships with loyal clients and found great fulfillment in preparing taxes for more than forty years. He enjoyed a more than fifty year friendship with his best friend, Carl Miller, who he considered as close as a brother.

Ron found love again when he married Andrea Peterson on April 30th, 2005. Andrea had an adult son, Kevin, whom she cherished deeply. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple, sealing their union for eternity. Ron and Andrea shared many happy years together—taking scenic drives, finding ways to serve others, and preparing special meals to enjoy with family and friends. Andrea lovingly cared for Ron and dedicated herself to making his life brighter. When Andrea’s health declined, she moved to Las Vegas to live with her sister, who could provide the care she needed. Though life was never quite the same for Ron after she left, their bond remained strong. They continued to share love, laughter, and cherished memories through phone calls, staying devoted to one another until the end.

Music was a constant thread woven through every stage of Ron’s life. From a young age, he could be found in the living room with his dad, uncle, and family friends, guitar in hand, learning and playing together. Over the years, Ron performed with several bands and discovered a love for the piano, often filling his home with music during family gatherings. He found great joy in sharing his talent with others—singing at local rest homes, restaurants, and anywhere a song could brighten someone’s day. In his later years, he turned to karaoke, cueing up songs on his phone and singing for whoever would listen. Music was his lifelong companion, and even in his final days, a familiar melody could still bring a tear to his eye.

Ron was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and never wavered in his faith or his love for his Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. He remained true to the covenants he made and found deep meaning and purpose in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Above all, Ron loved his family. He would drop everything to help them, and his greatest joy came from spending time together and sharing in their lives. In his final hours, Ron shared a tender message with his family, reminding them of his love and urging them to always care for one another.

Ron spent his final ten months at Quinn Meadows, where he received exceptional care and compassion. His family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and caregivers at Quinn Meadows for the comfort and kindness they showed him. During this time, Ron’s children created a visiting schedule to ensure he always had company—and a steady supply of his favorite pop. In those months, Ron opened up in new ways, sharing his vulnerabilities, struggles, and reflections on life’s meaning. He cherished the opportunity to reconnect with his sister, Jane, and the two of them enjoyed many deep and meaningful conversations. These moments became treasured memories for his family, as they grew closer to one another and to Ron in a profound way. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him, and his memory will live on in their hearts.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Hazel Littlefield, as well as siblings Charlie, Harold, Alvin, Carl, Carol, and Donna.

He is survived by his sister, Jane (Jay) Simonson; brother-in-law, Brian Jensen; the two loves of his life: Laura Lee Littlefield and Andrea Littlefield; his six children: Dalisa (Don) Potter, Cheryl (Cory) Smith, Denise (Eric) Scott, Ronald (Kelly) Littlefield, Michelle Littlefield, Andrew (Sarah) Littlefield, as well as Andrea’s son, Kevin (Kara Lee) Peterson; nineteen grandchildren: Scott (Nina) Burnham, Michael Burnham, Renea (Jake) Midthun, Britain Potter, Taysha (Fabian) Fernandez, Jordan (Amilia) Castleton, Alyssa (Preston) St. John, Marina (Eddie) Stone, Justen (Emily) Castleton, Tianna Cutler, Dakota (Katie) Tillotson, Randee (Adrian) MontesDeOca, Amia (Matthew) Mansfield, Josh (Joyce) Potter, Jacob Mather, Jarred (Caitlinn) Scott, Conrad (Amelia) Scott, Alexia Peterson, and Kai’rin Peterson; and thirty-one great/great-great grandchildren: Zach, Adam, Sienna, Capri, Cali, Larissa, Everly, Malachi, Camden, Rainyrose, Tytan, Noa, Bentlee, Adeline, Scarlet, Remington, River, Malaya, Taylee, Emma, Jax, Aspen, Enzo, Alaini, Aaliyah, Remington, Essie, Sierra, Maddi, JadahAnn, and Willow.
