Susan Elayne McDonell
January 26th, 1954 - February 20th, 2025
Susan Elayne McDonell (née Crouse), a beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho, on February 20, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on January 26, 1954, in Casper, Wyoming, Susan brought joy and creativity to all who knew her.
Susan grew up and attended school in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where she married Jerry Vann. Their union blessed them with a daughter, Amanda, but they later divorced. She later met the love of her life, Brett McDonell, and together they built a life filled with love and happiness in Nampa, Idaho.
Susan possessed a remarkable talent for arts and crafts, effortlessly mastering any new skill she pursued. Her creative spirit shone through in countless projects, reflecting her meticulous nature and artistic flair. She cherished the simple pleasures of life, especially camping trips with Brett, where they shared many memories amidst the beauty of nature. Throughout their life together, Susan and Brett shared the companionship of many cherished canine companions.
Susan’s warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Crouse and her father, Bill Crouse. She is survived by her husband, Brett McDonell; her daughter, Amanda (Bob) Fair; her sister, Billie Crouse; her grandsons Carter Fair and Jeffery (Stephanie) Gibson along with numerous in-laws and various other family members.
