Ted Kellogg

July 27th, 1939 - November 6th, 2022

Ted T. Kellogg passed away November 6, 2022, peacefully while hunting in the land he loved. Ted was 83 but still living life to its fullest to his final days. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a fisheries biologist until retirement in 2004.

Ted was born in upstate New York in 1939. After graduating high school he attended Hillsdale Jr. College in Michigan and eventually obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California in Architecture. Ted was a wild, free spirit and lived in a variety of different places from Ohio, Missouri, Montana, Florida, Michigan, California, and elsewhere until arriving in Idaho in 1982 where he made his long term home.

Ted was a gifted and talented artist who in his younger years had sold art to a variety of galleries in New York City. Later in his adult years he specialized in carving and woodworking and this artwork has been sold all over the U.S. to various fishing enthusiasts.

Ted was obsessed and passionate about fly fishing and hunting. Any vacation he took, a fly rod was always in close proximity. He traveled and fished all over the world. Ted was accompanied throughout his wild journey of life by his wife of 40 years, Sheila Kellogg. Anyone who knew Ted knew him to the be the life of the party, quick to make friends wherever he went, and full of endless stories and countless laughs. He had two daughters he loved dearly, Megan (Idaho Falls) and Jennifer (Bozeman) and five grandchildren that adored him. His closest family member, one of his nephews, Mark, was fortunate enough to get to experience many, many adventures by Ted’s side. He will be deeply missed and never replaced.
