Winona Myrle Brunson, 92, was born May 21,1931, in Blackfoot, Idaho. She was the daughter of Clarence Otto Brunson and Ruth Luise Hofer Brunson. She passed away on October 6, 2023, at Morningstar Senior Living, under the care of Enhabit Home Health and Hospice, in Idaho Falls.

Winona was the second of five children. She grew up and attended schools in Blackfoot, Idaho; graduating from Blackfoot High School in 1949. She later studied accounting at University of Idaho. She worked as an accountant for Wheeler Electric and Woodland Furniture.

In August of 1950, Winona married Gary Kay Sayer of Idaho Falls. Together they had six children; William (Randy), Gary Lynn, David, Allen, Suzanne, and Michael Sayer. Winona and Gary were later divorced in 1983. In May of 1993, she remarried and was sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple to Henry Samuel Crumb (Hank).

Winona loved spending time with her family and friends, playing sticks, pinochle, or golf. She had a passion for gardening, square dancing, hunting, and fishing. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed her calling as a Primary President and served a mission with Hank at Cove Fort in Utah. She had an infectious laugh, and a sassy spirit that touched and befriended everyone she met.

Winona is survived by her brother Melvin Richard Brunson (Millie), her loving sons, Gary Lynn and Michael Todd Sayer, bonus daughters Vicki Smith, Dixie, Jan, and Nikki Sayer; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, who cherished her.

She was preceded in death by her sons, David Wayne Sayer, William Randal Sayer, and Allen Reed Sayer; daughter, Suzanne Sayer; husband, Henry Samuel Crumb; brothers, Owen Lorenzo Brunson, Clarence Alvin Bruson; sister, Donna Luella Brunson; and first husband, Gary Kay Sayer.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 14, 2023, at the Mountain View Ward Chapel, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Bishop Harrison officiating. The family will meet with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
