BOISE — Boise State football’s 2025 season opener has been bumped forward two days to a Thursday night.

The Broncos will kick off their new season on Aug. 28 on the road at the University of South Florida. The game was initially scheduled for Aug. 30. The kickoff time will be announced once television partners make their selections in late spring.

The schedule change marks the first time Boise State will compete on a Thursday night since their season opener in 2021 — and that also was the last time the team played in Florida. The Broncos lost 36-31 to UCF in Orlando.

The rescheduled game will give Boise State an extra two days of rest over their week 2 opponent, FCS school Eastern Washington. The Eagles start their season at Incarnate Wood in San Antonio, Texas, on Aug. 30 before traveling here for a Sept. 6 matchup.

Here is Boise State’s schedule. Other matchups later in the season could be moved to Friday night. Home games are bolded.
