POCATELLO — The Highland Rams jumped back into second place in the 6A High Country Conference standings following a sweep of the Rigby Trojans, in Pocatello, Wednesday.
The rivals battled to a tight 3-2 finish in game one. Part two of the double-dip, though, was not as competitive, with Highland grabbing an 18-4 victory.
With their two wins, the Rams (8-8, 4-2) jumped into the second-place spot on the conference standings table, behind the Thunder Ridge Titans (13-4, 6-0), who took two games from the Madison Bobcats (6-10, 1-5), Wednesday. Rigby (6-10, 2-4) fell, from second place to third.
Highland split two games at home against Madison earlier this month, and will renew that rivalry this weekend in Rexburg.
The Rams and Titans will play a doubleheader, during which Thunder Ridge could seal a conference regular season title, next Tuesday, in Pocatello.
