Highland takes two from Thunder Ridge, returning favor of doubleheader sweep

POCATELLO — The Highland Rams swept a home doubleheader from the conference-leading Thunder Ridge Titans, Tuesday, behind more solid offense.
Highland (15-7, 6-4) has averaged 9.7 runs per over their last six games, earning five wins in that stretch.
That hot streak began after they visited Thunder Ridge (15-6, 8-2) for a double-dip on April 18, and lost both, outscored 9-2 on the day.
The Rams got revenge for that sweep to claim, at worst, a second-place finish in the 6A High Country Conference standings.
Highland won the first game of the doubleheader, 7-4, behind a homerun from McKenna Sutton. They finished the sweep with an 11-10 victory, on a walk-off single from Katelyn Humphrys.
The Rams will finish their regular season with two games at Rigby (8-13, 4-5), Friday.
Thunder Ridge will cap their season with a pair at Madison (7-13, 2-8), Friday. If the Titans win one of the games, they will avoid any tie-breaker scenarios and claim the conference’s regular season crown.
