GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Coming off back-to-back wins, the Chukars had an unscheduled day off Wednesday when their game at Grand Junction was postponed due to rain.

When they got back on the field Thursday, the Chukars (11-3) kept the hot streak rolling with a 25-7 victory over the Jackalopes (3-11).

Idaho Falls trailed, 3-0, at the end of one before erupting for nine runs in the second inning. They knocked Grand Junction starter Riley Egloff (L, 0-2) out before he ever recorded an out in that laborious second. Egloff was saddled with eight earned runs on 10 hits.

Connor Harrison (W, 3-0), who got the ball for Idaho Falls, rebounded from his own rough first to toss 5 innings with seven runs allowed.

The Chukars, who recorded a combined 31 hits, got multi-hit games from every spot in the lineup.

Center fielder Tyler Wyatt collected a game-high five hits on six at-bats, scoring two runs and knocking in three more. The Chukars got home runs from Johnny Pappas, Jacob Shanks, Simon Baumgardt and Spencer Rich, who added a game-best five RBIs.

The same two team will be at it again at Grand Junction’s Suplizio Field, with first pitch scheduled for 5:35 p.m.

A make-up game for Wednesday’s rain-out has been set for Saturday, as part of a doubleheader.
