POCATELLO — The newly resurfaced ICCU Community Field will better serve its purpose, both as a practice facility for Idaho State University teams and as a field to be used, as its name suggests, by the community.

The new turf playing surface is the latest improvement to the university as part of a partnership between ISU and ICCU, according to a news release.

“This project is a testament to the power of partnerships and shared vision,” ISU Athletic Director Pauline Thiros says in the release. “ICCU has once again stepped up in a major way for our student-athletes and for the broader Pocatello community.”

The resurfaced field will continue to provide a “safe, high-performance facility” for student-athletes while allowing the university campus to remain “a hub for youth sports and community engagement,” Thiros adds.

Completely state-of-the-art, the 120- by 70-yard field features a 2.5-inch Classic HD turf with CoolPlay Technology, providing safety and longevity.

“At ICCU, we believe in supporting institutions and initiatives that uplift Idaho community,” ICCU CMO Michael Watson says in the release. “Idaho State University is a vital part of our region, an we’re proud to continue investing in its future — especially in a project that benefits both student-athletes and the broader public.”

The new ICCU Community Field, Watson added, will provide a space for the people of the Pocatello community to “enrich their lives.”
