Leah Thomas powering Idaho Falls volleyball to the top of the 5A state rankings

IDAHO FALLS – The Idaho Falls volleyball team enters tonight’s match against Pocatello having won 14 of their past 15 matches and sitting atop the 5A High Country Conference.
Senior Leah Thomas continues to be a force for the Tigers (20-5, 4-0), ranking second in the state with 319 kills and ranking third in hitting percentage at 0.341.
A returning All-State first-teamer and Utah State commit, Thomas totaled 64 kills in wins over Highland, Thunder Ridge, and Skyline last week.
She hit .444 against Highland and also had three blocks. She hit .511 against Skyline and recorded two blocks.
That’s enough to earn Thomas more accolades as the East Idaho Sports District 6 Athlete of the Week.
The Tigers enter the week No. 1 in the 5A state coaches’ poll. Four of their five losses have come against 6A powers Madison and Rigby.
